The first of two gruelling days in the Vosges mountains. The first two Cat-1 climbs, the Petit Ballon (9.3km at 8.1%) and the Col du Platzerwasel (7.1km at 8.3%) provide an early challenge before the final Cat-1 climb - the iconic Grand Ballon (13.5km at 6.7%) - and a fast run-in to the finish.

I was betting on Annamiek van Vleuten winning the TDF Femmes avec Zwift and just yesterday, was feeling disappointed that she wasn't making a mark. What a change a day in the mountains can make! It is kind of strange, however, that the video makes no mention of Marianne Vos.

SDW not nearly as strong as I thought that team would be. No help for Vollering today, Kopecky with back-to-back weak sprint finishes. The team did win one stage, but overall expected more from that group.

Only 2 of these 32 jerseys were NOT given to Dutch riders.

I dont know much about women racing but could it be that the space is currently still not "professional" enough? I mean in the sense of that it appears there is no real team afford to stop ppl like van Vleuten once they break out.
It seems to me, that women racing is way more about some outstanding personalities who basically are alrounders and dominate the rest of the field. 10-15women who are just better in basically everything than the rest.
