Railway Empire Campaign - Let's Play / Gameplay - Episode 1 (New Tycoon Strategy Game 2018)

Railway Empire (Kalypso) is a new Railway Tycoon strategy games for PC PS4 Xbox One. Release date 26th January 2018

Railway Empire, a new tycoon simulation game spanning 100 years of American industrialisation, where you will be tasked with building, managing and expanding your railway company utilising all the innovations of the steam engine revolution on Windows PC, Linux, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

In Railway Empire, you will create an elaborate and wide-ranging rail network, purchase over 40 different trains modelled in extraordinary detail, and buy or build railway stations, maintenance buildings, factories and tourist attractions to keep your travel network ahead of the competition. You’ll also need to hire and manage your workforce if you want to ensure an efficient train service, whilst also develop over 300 technologies ranging from mechanical improvements to the trains themselves to workplace infrastructures and advanced amenities as you progress through five eras of technological innovations.

However, you can’t just build and research your way to the top – the competition never sleeps, and to keep your business on track you’ll have to survive against up to three rival tycoons. To get to the top you may have to resort to more cutthroat tactics as you attack and sabotage your opponents through raids and industrial espionage.

Railway Empire is currently planned for a Q4 2017 release.

If it's not Colm Meany, it's not Durant. He tells you a lot. However, he left out the most important part: hire a former Rebel to run your construction.

so at it's core, it's a WAY more in-depth version of Sid Meier's Railroads?

Wow! Signals and sidings? Awesome. I played Railroad Tycoon 3 and trains just pause while the other train goes through. Sid Meier's Railroads has them crash haha

"Rennselaer" is a city in New York near Albany. It is pronounced Ren-san-lear.
I use sandbox mode for practice before playing against the AI it gives you an idea of what's going on etc, good video Skye enjoyed it
That´s a great sneak peak of the game. Would surely have gone under my radar unless you had made this video. Bravo!

32:27 I don' tknow why that newspaper stumped you so :) It's one thousand one hundred and 4 miles of track. So they have laied over a thousand miles of track, which makes them unstoppable in their expansion.

About 10 min and 55 sec's into your video, you don't know what til lightning sign with the 59% means. Just guessing, maybe it's "reliability", how often does the train breaks down?

I could have sworn i commented on this vid. Please do more on this series. I was wanting a good train SIM, and thanks to you, I believe I may have found it. =)
Skye, outside the English speaking world, most countries use period as a thousand separator and use comma for the decimal separator.
Gaming Minds Studios and Kalypso Media are German companies, and so they are used to it being this way, and would likely have forgotten, that a game taking place in America should use the opposite setup.
So the newspaper headline should be read as "over 1,104 miles long track" (in English).
Looks like an interesting game Skye. Looking forward to more of it.

Excellent, I was hoping you would play this! Skye has a great knack for putting these type of games through their paces and expose the weaknesses when things get over complicated or grindy!

Reminds me of Railroads. Probably will get this for purely nostalgia as it's been too long since I've played that.

David Seaver:
Can someone help please!
I just cannot getnthe part done when you have to connect the railway line from Evans farm to Norfolk via Omaha. It’s about 14:30 on the video here but it JUST WILL NOT let me do it. I can connect Evans farm to Omaha but it won’t let me do the third stage!!!

Railroad Tycoon 3 2.0, anyone?
Mark Jordan
Mark Jordan:
show me a mouse that doesn't have a scroll wheel lol
railroad tycoon 3 had so much more content, so this is 15 years later, with dated graphics and less content and more simplistic, such a hard sell...

Another J.P. Morgan simulator.
First thanks for the video. Ill subscribe to your channel. I've never played a train sim before. I play a lot of Civilization type games. So ill put this on my shopping list once it's released. Like the comments say it looks not that difficult to play but that can be a good thing too. Just a relaxed game to play to waste some time. There are already a lot of deep games to choose from so for me personally i'm going to get it. Thank you Skye!
Is it even possible to push entire trains with the locomotives or are they always pulling the cars for every train?
Hey my corn train wont move. I did the same thing as you and did what the guy said, but the train just stays there. It says "waiting for Omaha-Norfolk"

I see the purpose of Sandbox Mode as a way to test out your builds to see how they work in the game and to get use to what the game gives you to work with so you can enter competitive mode with better ways of doing things in the game.

Summer LaRose:
It looks nice, and the price is fair, but I'm so used to getting games on sale on Steam I guess I'm going to wishlist it and wait for a sale one day :D

Can someone help me understand how to get 2 trains running on the same track right behind each other? the computer does it but I don't know how...sometimes I think it has more than 2...but I don't look to see as I don't want to get more frustrated than I am.
Don Plant
Don Plant:
Thank you for your effort, I note the signalling is not correct, in the real world facing the "Toe" is also protected, I pre ordered my copy, this is what Railroad Tycoon 3 should have been, instead we got Railroads BLAGGGG.
