ROADRUNNER: A Film About Anthony Bourdain - Official Trailer [HD] - In Theaters July 16

It’s not where you go. It’s what you leave behind . . . Chef, writer, adventurer, provocateur: Anthony Bourdain lived his life unabashedly. Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain is an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at how an anonymous chef became a world-renowned cultural icon. From Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville (20 Feet From Stardom, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?), this unflinching look at Bourdain reverberates with his presence, in his own voice and in the way he indelibly impacted the world around him.

I’m 51 . Blue collar. Mr Bourdain changed the way I thought about myself. I looked at him and said if this guy , a cook, an addict, a man that admittedly had huge faults as a person similar to mine can go to these wonderful places and meet and enjoy time spent with people from these places so can I. I guess he inspired me to do things in a way no one else ever did. And when I learned he cashed in his chips I’m not ashamed to say I teared up a bit as if I lost a close friend. And it’s amazing that he had this effect on so many people around the world.

Anthony Bourdain was trying to make everybody more openminded and accepting. His shows all were leaps and bounds above the rest in how meaningful they were

Anthony Bourdain was basically the reason I moved from the U.S. to China and made films about rock and roll and will continue to do so. I was in Japan when I found out. I cried while a punk band played. I jumped up on stage when they were done and screamed about it. I think maybe two people understood me. I made the crowd pour beer on the ground. It felt.....nice. We all miss you, friend.

This is insane. Anthony Bourdain is the reason I started travelling. His quote in this trailer about travel was on my college graduation announcements. The song used in this is The Big Ship by Brian Eno - a song I listen to on repeat when I travel and a song I made a video to after traveling around Asia. I write this as I take a day off from hiking the PCT and I can't help but thank him for the inspiration and motivation to follow my dreams of travel

It feels so weird to remember that we live in a world he’s no longer in, and yet for people who love him — he’s actually everywhere. Thank you for everything, Tony. You have done so much for me, even after you’ve passed. And I know that might not have been your intention for anyone, but it’s what happens when you witness another person living their truth — it sticks with you forever.

I traveled with this man thru his show at one of the lowest points of my life, I was broke and lost. Watching this trailer made me choke up. I don't think many people know how much Tony did for the world, his voice was the voice of many, his curiousness about the world what incredible.

I was too young when he started No Reservations. Now I'm watching everything for the first time. Chang is absolutely right: he went from an intolerable prick in the first season of NR, to someone with whom I wanted to have a beer (or 20) and talk about life in the last season of PU. It was always about him bettering himself. Unfortunately, he was too broken, and maybe too proud to seek help. Seek help.
